Eason Music Store Concert Grade Suzhou Aged Rosewood Zhonghu By Wan Qi Xing

The Zhonghu is like the alto of the Huqin family. The construction of a Zhonghu is similar to that of an Erhu, but with a larger neck and resonator. The strings are tuned to a fifth lower than those of an Erhu.

Zhonghus produce a deep and mellow tone, similar to that of a Viola but more expressive.

This Zhonghu, made with Aged Rosewood, produces a rich and smooth tone, with an underlying sweetness. 

The high registers ring out well.  Tone and volume of inner and outer strings are balanced.

Wan Qi Xing is one of the most famous makers from Suzhou with over 20 years of history.  Into their second generation, his Erhus won numerous accolades in various erhu making competitions.
